Charsadda (November 5, 2017); Rejecting population census in FATA, the chief of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) and Member National Assembly Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has called delay in FATA reforms unreasonable.
While talking to a delegation of FATA youth which called on him at his residence further said that establishment is not an obstacle to FATA reforms.
Reforms are being delayed because Nawaz Sharif does not want to lose the support of Mahmood Khan Acchakzai and JUI chief Maulana Fazlul Rahman.
Where in the constitution is it written that the future of FATA should be resolved through referendum, he asked claiming that the people of FATA too support amalgamation in Khyber Pakhtwankhwa province. The future of FATA should not be sacrificed to politics, he added.
Sherpao said that the failure to resolve electoral constituencies issue could delay the general elections next year. The cost of the delay would be borne by all, he warned.
