Father Denied Basic Rights In Jail: Hussain Nawaz

Web Desk(July 15, 2018): Hussain Nawaz, the son of the former Premier Nawaz Sharif has said his father has been denied “basic rights” in Adiala jail.

“I am told that my father was not given a bed to sleep on and the bathroom was extremely dirty probably not cleaned for ages,” Nawaz’s elder son tweeted.

“There’s no precedence of treating people’s representatives with dignity in this country but these are basic rights withdrawal of which constitutes torture,” he added.

Earlier on, the members of Sharif family on Saturday met former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz in Adyala jail.

Former Punjab CM and PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif along with his sons Hamza Shehbaz, Salman Shehbaz and mother Begum Shamim reached Islamabad on chartered aircraft.

On the other hand, former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were granted B Class facility in Adiala Jail.Image result for Family Members Meet Nawaz, Maryam in Adiala Jail Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir had issued warrants for imprisonment for Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz. A team of doctors conducted the medical checkup of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz and declared them fit.

Earlier, at least 20 cases have been registered against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders including party chief Shehbaz Sharif and supporters for holding unpermitted rallies to welcome ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

On Friday, a large number of PML-N supporters, in the shape of a rally headed by Shehbaz Sharif, had attempted to make their way to the airport from the city’s Lohari Gate area.

The interim Punjab government had imposed Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC), a law concerning the maintenance of public order, ahead of Nawaz and his daughter Maryam’s arrival.
