Fawad On Makran Highway Bus Attack: ‘War Against Terrorism Yet To End’

ISLAMABAD: While pouring his condolences on the loss of 14 innocent lives in a bus attack on Makran highway, Federal Information Minister Fawad Choudhary has said that the war against terrorism is yet to end.

The Information Minister, in his Twitter message, said that Pakistan has achieved numerous victories in its continuous war for eliminating terrorism countrywide but the war has not finished.

Recalling Hayatabad operation and killing of nine people of Hazara community in Hazaraganji blast, he added that suspicions escalate as there is a ‘certain pattern’ in these terrorist attacks.

Unknown armed assailants on Wednesday night killed 14 people who were passengers, travelling on the Markan coastal highway near Ormara.

According to security sources, the assailants halted path of all the buses either heading for or leaving Gwadar and offloaded all the passengers.

Sources added that the unidentified gunmen checked the National Identity Cards (NICs) of all the passengers before shooting them to death at point-blank range and fleeing the scene without being caught.

Security officials, upon receiving the information of the heart-rending incident, reached the highway spot and shifted dead bodies to a Naval Hospital in Ormara.
