Islamabad (December 19, 2017): The Chief of Jamiat Ulem-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazalur Rehman on Tuesday stressed for the solution of the Federally Administrative Tribal Areas (FATA) issue as per constitution and warned any unconstitutional step can further deepened the crisis.
Talking to media after meeting with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi separately JUI chief said that he has presented his stance and reservations on FATA clearly.“I told them FATA is not a province but national issue and it should be solved restricting under the constitution and even, if needed, legal experts should be consulted, ” he suggested.
He mentioned that he advised the PM Abbasi to meet with the FATA Jirga’s supreme Council for the right solution of the issue.

Earlier, JUI Chief met with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Army Chief General Bajwa latter’s chamber as DG ISI, DGMO and senate deputy speaker Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Fazalur Rehman apprised them over his reservations on FATA reforms, while he was assured to redress his concerns over the issue.
The JUI chief had met PM Abbasi a day earlier and discussed the merger of FATA with KP.
