Fazl Announces To Protest On Friday Against Indian Atrocities

Islamabad (April 04, 2018): Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has announced to hold a protest on Friday against the ongoing Indian atrocities in the Indian occupied Kashmir, which has claimed several civilian lives.

Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman held a press conference, where he announced the protest in wake of Indian brutality in the occupied valley which has left more than two dozen dead and hundreds wounded.

“We could not decide to date whether the Kashmir issue is political or military,” said Fazl.

The JUI-F leader said that India should also try to move towards a political solution.Fazl lamented that only he is criticised on the issue as he is the chair of the parliamentary committee on Kashmir.

Earlier on Wednesday, the National Security Committee Meeting strongly condemned the Indian barbarianism in Kashmir and demanded the International forces to take immediate notice of the worsen human right situation in the valley.

The meeting was presiding over by the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and also attended by the chairman joint chief of staff committee, chiefs of all three armed forces, foreign minister Khawaja Asif, interior minister Ahsan Iqbal and national security adviser Nasir Janjua.According to a press release, the committee condemned the current situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir, observing that the inhumane and incessant use of pellet guns against innocent protestors and on funeral processions has blinded scores of Kashmiris and inflicted injuries.

“The National Security Committee praised the extraordinary courage and resilience of Kashmiri people in the face of Indian brutalities, gross and systematic violations of all their human rights. The Committee observed that the purely indigenous character of this uprising has once again belied the false propaganda by the Indian government,” said the press release.

Members of the committee also expressed Pakistan’s commitment to political, diplomatic and moral support for the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their just and legitimate struggle for their right to self-determination.The NSC has decided to raise the issue of unprecedented Indian brutalities at both bilateral and multilateral platforms, said the press release.

The committee has termed the Indian atrocities worse violation of human rights and demanded the international community should take serious notice of the situation in Kashmir.

The Director General Military Operations briefed the meeting over the line of control violation by Indian forces, steps regarding make more effective security at Afghan border and ongoing operation in FATA.

The meeting has also deliberated over the regional security and security situation at borders.

At least 19 Kashmiri youth were martyred by Indian security forces in Islamabad and Shopian districts of the occupied valley.Earlier today, PM Abbasi had said that Indian forces have recently martyred 19 and injured over 200 Kashmiris in an attempt to suppress their voices but declared it as ‘a failed agenda.’

Addressing the joint meeting of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council and legislative assembly in Muzaffarabad, the premier said Indian forces not only targetted unarmed civilians but also attacked those participating in funeral prayers.

Pakistan on Monday had also condemned the violence, with Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif blaming India for trying to repeat Gujarat Muslim massacre in occupied Kashmir.
