Fazl’s Innings will End Soon, says Firdous

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan predicted that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s innings will end soon.

Talking to media persons outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), the Special Assistant said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman wanted to hit a sixer on every ball but such an approach increases chances of getting out.

Firdous Ashiq Awan advised Maulana to realize that presence in the ground was more important as efforts to hit a six may send him out of the political arena.

“Task of the religious scholars is to resolve problems of the masses,” the SAPM said and expressed hope that Fazlur Rehman would not damage Kashmir cause by his activities.

Responding to a question about the judicial system, the SAPM said that the provision of timely and inexpensive justice was the topmost priority of the present democratic dispensation.

Firrdous thanked Chief Justice IHC for providing her a chance to visit the District courts. “District courts will be shifted to Judicial Complex in phases,” she said.

She said during her visit to Islamabad court she came to know about the sorry state of affairs there and brought all the facts in the knowledge of the Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The SAPM said that the Prime Minister who waged a political struggle for 23 years has been striving to introduce reforms in all sectors.

The present government introduced changes in colonial-era laws and for the introduction of pro-people legislation the opposition should extend its support, she added.
