Fear of Coronavirus Spread: Pak-Iran Border Closed For Fourth Day

CHAGAI: In a prevention measure Taftan border along with Iran has been closed for fourth day as the death toll in Iran has reached 16.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority has established temporary make-shift arrangements for pilgrims stranded along the border where food, beds, blankets, thermal guns, masks, gloves have been provided.

Around 270 people including pilgrims returning from Iran have been isolated and placed under quarantine in Taftan’s Pakistan House for two weeks while more 8000 will be shifted to temporary shelter site while medical emergency has been imposed in all border areas.

Pakistan authorities on Tuesday allowed 306 Iranian nationals to return to their country after reopening the Pak-Iran border for a short period of four and a half hours in the Taftan area of Chagai district on Tuesday.

Balochistan Home and Tribal Affairs Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove along with some other ministers and officials concerned visited the Taftan border.
