Cabinet Approves 54 Companies For Overseas Employment

Islamabad (April 12, 2018): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi chaired a meeting of the Federal Cabinet at Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday.

The Cabinet approved signing of the MoU between National Library of Pakistan and National Library of Cuba ‘Jose Marti’ for strengthening of mutual cooperation between the two libraries of Pakistan and Cuba.

The Cabinet also approved signing of Tripartite MoU between National Transport Research Center, Pakistan and China Highway and Transportation Society and Second Highway Consultants Co. Ltd., China to conduct study on “International Transport Technology Standards and Specification Systems, especially in those countries along the ‘Belt and Road’ routes.The meeting ratified the decisions taken by Cabinet Committee for Disposal of legislative Cases in its meeting in this month and the decisions taken by the Cabinet Committee on Privatization in its meeting held last month.

The Cabinet approved appointment of Lt. Gen. Sadiq Ali as Chairman Pakistan Ordnance of Factories Board and appointment of Dr. Khawar Siddiquie Khokhar as Director General National Institute of Electronics.Approval was accorded to Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development to grant licenses to 54 Overseas Employment Promoters, as recommended by Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment.

Earlier before Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister presided ECC. The meeting allowed Sui Southern Gas company to reallocate 14.8 billion rupees from RLNG-II pipeline project to LPG air mix projects to ensure their expeditious completion and availability of gas to household and industry.

Its meeting was held in Islamabad on Thursday with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the chair.

It also directed the company to expand setting up of air mix plants in every district.The meeting granted 4-years extension in Kandra Development and Production Lease.

The decision was taken in view of impediments hindering production of recoverable reserves from Kandra gas field and setting up of 120 MW power plant.

It constituted a committee to analyze impact and sustainability of the industrial subsidy package claims.The ECC approved one-time grant to Pakistan Machine Tool Factory for payment of dues to its retired employees.

A grant of 300 million was approved in the first installment.
