ISLAMABAD: Tax Amnesty Scheme 2019 will initiate from May 15 through presidential ordinance as federal cabinet gave its approval on Tuesday.
The decision came in a meeting of federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan over an eight-point agenda in Islamabad.
During the meeting, Financial Advisor Dr Hafeez Sheikh apprised the Premier on bailout package Pakistan will receive from International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Tax Amnesty Scheme affair.
On this occasion, both the Prime Minister and his advisor answered questions of parliamentarians.
Dr Hafeez Sheikh said that development funds amounting to Rs800 billion will be set in the next budget and funds of Benazir Income Support Program will be raised from Rs80billion to Rs180 billion in order to aid the lower-class.
When asked if IMF will decide the rate of dollar and interest, the Financial Advisor affirmed that it was solely the State Bank of Pakistan who will take a decision on it.
