KARACHI: The federal government is searching for the successor of late Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui and Justice (Retd) Sarmad Jalal Usmani or former Speaker National Assembly Elahi Bux Soomro might the possible successor of the late Governor.
Sources said that the federal government had started consultation for appointment of new Governor following the death of Siddiqui. Justice Usmani and Elahi Bux Soomro are said to be front runner for the top constitutional office of the province.
The Office fell vacant on January 11 after the death of Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui. Siddiqui served as the 31st Governor of the province for two months.
Siddiqui had replaced the longest-serving governor, Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, in the second week of November.
