Federal Govt Shuffles IGPs of Punjab, Sindh And KP

Islamabad (September 07, 2018): Federal Government has shuffled Inspector General of Police of three provinces. It was stated an official notification on Friday.

The notification said that Salahuddin Mehsood has been made IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Kaleem Imam has been made police chief in Sindh, said the notification.

The third shuffling was of Mohammad Tahir, who has been made IGP in Punjab.

Currently serving IGP Sindh Amjad Javed Saleemi has been directed to report to the establishment division after the notification.

Dr. Kaleem Imam, a grade-21 officer serving as the Punjab IGP, has now been appointed as the IGP for Sindh. Amjad Javed Saleemi, the previous Sindh IGP, has been transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division with immediate effect.

The newly appointed Sindh IGP joined the civil services on November 1, 1988 and belongs to the 16th Common. He was previously a grade 21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan. His domicile of origin is urban Sindh. He will retire on April 24, 2022.Muhammad Tahir, a grade-21 officer appointed previously as the KP IGP, will now be serving as the Punjab IGP.

He joined the civil services on November 1,1988 and belongs to the 16th Common. His domicile is Rawalpindi. He will retire on November 21, 2020.

Salahuddin Khan, a grade-21 officer, presently posted as Officer on Special Duty (PSD) in the Establishment Division has been transferred and posted as the IGP for KP.

All of the three newly appointed officers were posted to their previous positions on June 13 this year by the caretaker government.

They have all been appointed in their own pay and scale to their new positions with immediate effect, according to the notices issued.
