Islamabad (March 06, 2018): The Federal Investigation Authority on Tuesday arrested a pharmaceutical company’s owner Usman over Supreme Court’s (SC) orders in fake medicines case.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar conducted hearing of the case during which he was informed that a company was preparing the unregistered medicines and action could not be taken against him as he was a relative of a Punjab Police DIG Riffat Mukhtar.

The apex court directed the Drug Regulatory Authority officer to seal the company and present report and properly inspect the factory as it is manufacturing substandard medicines or not.

The court initially issued suspension notification of RPO Bahawalpur, asking who is backing this dangerous move but later withdrew it. He also ordered Punjab Inspector general to launch inquiry of his DIG involvement and submit the report.

The company owner talking to media outside the apex court said that his response was not taken by the apex court and his factory is manufacturing lowest price vaccines of Hepatitis.
