Fierce Response To Be Made If India Attacks Pakistan: Rasheed

LAHORE: Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed said that Narendra Modi wanted to take revenge of his electoral defeat in five states from Pakistan. He warned Indian government for facing fierce response if New Delhi attempted to attack Islamabad territory.

While addressing press conference after chairing a high-level meeting, Rasheed criticised that there should a reason behind Asif Ali Zardari’s demand to hear his case in Karachi. The minister reiterated that he has made peace with Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

Rasheed said that he was made aware by newspapers regarding his summon released by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on February 27 in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) contract case. He said that he will attend the hearing after taking permission from Prime Minister Imran Khan. He once again reiterated for further arrests of 40 personalities in coming days.

The minister said that PM Imran Khan has clarified earlier for not giving NRO to anyone in the country.

Commenting over Pakistan Railways (PR) performance, Rasheed said that 20 new trains will be run in 2019 while 20 trains were added to the network in 100 days of the government. He said that Jinnah Express was launched this year while the department will bring Shalimar Express and Sir Syed Express in coming days. He expressed aims to reach milestone of Rs10 billion revenue from Pakistan Railways.

He said that the department was trying to run Peshawar to Karachi passenger train. He revealed that 18 countries expressed interests to initiate joint venture with PR.

Rasheed detailed that PR decided to run a VIP train, Jinnah Express, from Karachi to Lahore with fare of Rs7,000 while food will be provided free. He said land and lease records of the department were made computerized while citizens could see fare rates through mobiles now. He added that number of wagons in freight trains were increased from 25 to 30.
