Yesterday, Denmark and Australia played a 1-1 draw in Samara that kept Denmark on course to qualify.Denmark scored through its star, Christia Eriksen, seven minutes in, and Australia equalized on a penalty for handball later in the first half. Australia’s Mile Jedinak scored on a penalty kick to tie their match against Denmark.

France beat Peru by 1-0, with a goal from their youngest scorer Kylian Mbappe.Mbappe’s goal in 34th minute took him past David Trezeguet’s record as France’s youngest scorer in the competition, at 19 years of age.

The result leaves France on six points and Denmark and Australia on four and one respectively after their 1-1 draw earlier in the day.Croatia have beaten Argentina with 3-0 and entered the knockout phase of the tournament.

Croatia inflicted a brutal 3-0 World Cup defeat on Argentina which will damage the two-time champions’ psyche, and may prove fatal to their participation at this tournament. The result means that an Iceland win over Nigeria on Friday and a convenient draw between Croatia and Iceland in their final game would see Argentina eliminated.

This was Croatia’s first victory in five attempts against South American nations at the World Cup, having lost each of their previous four. This is only the second time Croatia have won both of their opening two games at a World Cup, after the 1998 tournament that saw them reach the semi-finals.
