Film Actor Allauddin’s 36th Death Anniversary

LAHORE: Today marked the 36th death anniversary of the legendary film actor Allauddin.

Born in 1923 in Rawalpindi, Allauddin wanted to become a singer, but after working as a playback singer for a few films, he landed an opportunity to act in films in Bombay before independence.

He played a character role in a film titled ‘Mela’ at the age of 24.

Later, he migrated to Pakistan and worked in films throughout his life. His film career spanned over four decades during which he worked in a large number of hits.

He was a versatile actor, playing a large variety of roles. His last released film was Dushmani in 1990.

He was one of the very few film artists, who acted as hero, side hero, villain, comedian and character actor.

His memorable films include Baghi, Aakhri Nishan, Waada, Paatey Khan, Peengan, Mirza Saheban, Kartar Singh, Raz, Salma, Susral, Shaheed, Farangi, Badnam, Zarqa,  Umraujan Ada and various other films.

Allauddin left his fans forever, on May 13, 1983.
