Finance Minister Rebuffs Claims Alleging Support Of Banned Outfits In Elections

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Asad Umar has rebuffed claims of opposition parties, particularly of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s, alleging taking banned outfits’ support in General Elections 2018.

Talking to media in Islamabad, Asad Umar said that the groups which supported him during elections were themselves the victim of terrorism.

He reiterated his call on economic being subject to ‘historic elite culture’ in the country.

“We will have to strengthen our parliament and accountability institutions in order to make the economy more open and explicit”, finance minister stated.

He added, “Work has been and done and still is underway on Federal Bureau of Revenue [FBR]”.

On Monday, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto demanded the sacking of those federal ministers who have ‘association with the banned outfits’.

“The government has responded to my demand to sack ministers associated with banned outfits by declaring me anti-state, issuing death threats & NAB notices. None of this deters us from our principle stand; form joint NSC parliamentary committee & act against banned outfits”, Bilawal tweeted.
