KARACHI: First Information Report (FIR) has been registered into an attack over Federal Minister Ali Muhammad Mahar against 10 unidentified attackers, in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), here on Wednesday.
The police lodged the case on a complaint of Mahar’s servant against ten unidentified armed men under sections related to robbery and extending dire threats.
“Eight to ten armed men broke into the minister’s residence and held the family members hostage and looted valuables, including five mobile phones, and five tola of gold”, the content of the FIR reads.
The armed men also deprived the servants of Rs100,000 cash before fleeing the scene.
Former chief minister Sindh Sardar Ali Muhammad Khan Mahar was injured after he offered resistance to a house robbery at his residence in the metropolis’ Gizri neighbourhood on Monday night.
Mahar was moved to a nearby facility after being injured.
SSP South Pir Muhammad Shah informed that dacoits didn’t open fire during the robbery.
“Ali Mahar, the PTI leader and federal minister was safe and his wounds were not critical,” said the SSP.
