Firdous Felicitates Nation on First Ever PA Polls In Erstwhile FATA

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday propagated a congratulatory message to the nation on the successful organization of first-ever elections in erstwhile FATA.

Polls were held in the merged tribal district on Saturday (July 20) on 16 seats of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly where, as per unofficial results, ruling PTI and independent candidates took the lead with five and six seats, respectively.

Firdous Ashiq Awan termed the event “a win for peace”, adding that the elections were a new step development in stabilizing Pakistan.

The special aide said that the tribal people were getting the long-awaited fruit of their patience.

Lashing out at the opposition, she criticised them for not issuing any statement over the successful completion of a democratic process.
