Five Arrested, Weapon Recovered From Dera Bugti, Karachi

Rawalpindi (July 18, 2018): At least five suspected terrorists were arrested and a large cache of weapons and explosives recovered in raids carried out by security forces in different areas of Balochistan, Karachi and Torkhum on Wednesday, the military’s media wing ISPR said.

“Security Forces conducted IBOs (intelligence based operations) in Panukh area of Dera Bugti of Balochistan,” said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).The security forces said that two suspected terrorists were apprehended, while six others surrendered during the raids as the huge cache of explosives, remote control bomb and detonators recovered.

In another joint operation by police and Rangers in Karachi’s Orangi Town, two most wanted terrorists were arrested. The arrested accused have the plan to create law and order situation during the forthcoming polls. In another raid in Chakiwara hug cache of hidden weapon unearthed.

“The suspects identified as Bilal and Arshad had planned on targeting candidates of opposing parties ahead of the July 25 polls,” a Rangers spokesperson said.

In another separate raid in Torkhum, the customs officials have foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of arms from Afghanistan to Pakistan. During the action, a terrorist was arrested and weapons recovered from them confiscated.
