PESHAWAR: An anti-polio drive started in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) today which will continue for five days.
It is a first bigger campaign after five months break of coronavirus that as many as 4.562 children will be administered polio drops.
As many as 19 thousands teams have been formed to administer polio drops in the 21 high risk districts of the province, out of which 17, 859 are mobile and 1,237 are fixed teams.
It has been directed to follow coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) strictly during the campaign.
In his message on the campaign, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mahmood Khan said that the government is determined to erradicate the polio from the province.
The CM said that all the available resources are being used to eradicate the menace of the polio while he requested clerics, media and elected representative to cooperate with the government for eradicating the polio in the province.
