Five Held For Selling Uranium In India

New Delhi (July 06, 2018): Indian police claimed to have arrested at least five suspects for selling what they said is one kilogram of Uranium in Kolkata.

Police said they seized the yellow coloured substance and sent it to experts for testing. Uranium is a  highly radioactive substance that is used in nuclear facilities.The suspects were identified as Jawed Miandad, SK Mughal, Younus Biswas, Md Shahjahan Maondal and Basant Singh.

The accused are from Nanoor in Birbhum, Sutahata in Purba Midnapore, Baduria in North 24 Parganas and Behrampore in Murshidabad.The cops have also recovered forged government recruitment letters and mark sheets from the accused.

Cops are not ruling out this incident as a con act but say that they will comment further only after confirmation from experts in this sensitive case.
