ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday expressed reservations over nominating Rana Tanveer Hussain as Public Accounts Committee chairman in place of PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Pakistan Tehreeke-e-Insaaf (PTI) vice president Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that PAC is a very important committee of parliament, adding that Shahbaz’s resignation from PAC seat has raised several questions.
“Rumour circulating that Sharif’s will flee to abroad this time also like they fled last time during Musharraf’s tenure,” he said.
Pakistan Muslims League Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday nominated Rana Tanveer as new public accounts chairman (PAC).
The decision was taken during a parliamentary party meeting of PML-N headed by Khawaja Asif and Raja Zafarul Haq.
On the other hand, Khawaja Asif was nominated as a parliamentary leader in National Assembly by the former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on the will of party president Shehbaz Sharif.
