Washington (September 22, 2018): Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has left for the United States in the wee hours of Saturday to attend the UN General Assembly session.
According to the details, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday night departed for the United States to attend the 73rd UN General Assembly’s session.

Qureshi will lead the Pakistani delegation at the General Assembly’s current session which opened on September 18.
On the sideline of the UN General Assembly session, Shah Mehmood Qureshi will hold meetings with the Trump administration. It will be the first interaction of the new Pakistan’s government with the United States.
The minister is accompanied by Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua in the week-long visit to the United Nations’ headquarter in New York.
FM Qureshi will present Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue among others at the UN General Assembly session.
He will meet his counterparts at the session and hold talks with the US administration. He will also address the Pakistani community in Washington.
The foreign minister’s first official engagement of this week-long tour is an address to the Pakistani community in Washington, and the same day he flies to New York to attend the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, which began on Sept 18.
The high-level General Assembly debate, however, begins on Sept 25 and is scheduled to last for nine working days. Mr Qureshi is expected to address the General Assembly on Sept 29.
Earlier, it was reported that Prime Minister Imran Khan will not attend the UNGA session to focus his attention on the country’s economy.
