FM Qureshi Telephones French Counterpart To Brief Situation In Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi continuing his active efforts to highlight India’s unjustified move of ending the special status of Kashmir has telephoned his French counterpart.

The two leaders discussed continued human rights violations in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) by the Indian government including overall law and order situation of the region while he also informed his counterpart the unilateral action of India and grave situation emitting out of the decision and threats it poses to regional security.

The Foreign Minister informed his French counterpart that Indian move is a blatant violation of United Nations (UN) security council resolutions adding that the curfew has been imposed in the valley since August 5 and we feared a human tragedy could erupt in the IHK.

The French Foreign Minister suggested both India and Pakistan resolve the dispute through talks with mutual understanding adding that he expressed concern on the situation of the IHK however he praised Pakistan reconciliatory efforts in Afghanistan.
