ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Sardar Raza Khan on Wednesday expressed annoyance over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for not submitting reply in the foreign funding case.
A full-bench of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) headed by Chief Election Commissioner heard the PTI foreign funding case.
When PTI counsel sought time to submit reply, the CEC expressed annoyance, saying that had there been such a delay on part of any other in finishing reply the PTI would have not spared any forum to protest the inordinate delay.
The CEC made it clear to PTI counsel that PTI would have to file reply by next date at any cost, otherwise time would not be given.
The PTI counsel assured that the reply would be filed by next date. Upon this the Commission gave time to PTI counsel by April 3 to furnish reply on the petition.
Talking to media after the hearing, petitioner Akbar S. Babar, a founding member of PTI, said that PTI was using delaying tactics in the instant matter. He added that the CEC termed the PTI’s tactics like making fun of law.
He lashed out at PTI chief Imran Khan, saying that Imran has also become a traditional politician and would submit ‘Phatecher’ reply in the ECP as he had no evidence in the matter.
