WASHINGTON: Former caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan Moeen Qureshi passed away at the age of 86 years in United States today.
He had been suffering from lungs infection since long. He had been the caretaker prime minister of Pakistan from 18 July to October 19, 1993. Moeen Qureshi was an economist, former civil servant and also worked on Key posts in Word Bank.
He was born in Lahore on June 26, 1930. Moeen Qureshi received the degree of M.A. in economics from the Punjab University and went to the United States for PhD in Economics.
He returned to Pakistan in 1955 and joined the civil service. In 1956, he resigned from the civil service and joined the International Monitory Fund (IMF).
