Attock (June 27, 2017): Four of a family members were drowned as their boat capsized in River Indus near Attock Khurd on Monday evening.
Sources said that four young men of a family, belonging to Jehangira KP, arrived at Attock Khurd for picnic. They started engine of a boat docked at brink of River Indus and took it into the center of the river. The sources said that their boat capsized when they took a short turn.
Rescue officials rushed to the scene but the fast flowing water swept them away. The divers stopped the rescue operation in the night. The rescue operation will be resumed in the morning today.
It is pertinent to mention here that the district administration had imposed section 144 on bathing, swimming and boating in the River Indus and adjacent areas . Over 100 people have been apprehended over violation of the section 144 from different areas alongside the River Indus.
