India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has summoned Chairman of Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, to New Delhi on Monday in connection to the investigations for baseless cases that are registered against him.
According to Kashmir Media Service, NIA has also summoned another Hurriyat leader Dr Naseem Gilani who is the son of Syed Ali Gilani.
The NIA had conducted raids on the residences of several Hurriyat leaders in the previous month of February.
Several Hurriyat leader and activists are also under the custody of the NIA.
These raids were part of India’s agenda of threatening Kashmiris to give up their right of self-determination.
It has also been surfaced that Modi-led Indian government has also banned the advertisements of two newspapers that were exposing the Indian military’s heinous war crimes.
Both newspapers were named as Kashmir Readers and Greater Kashmir.
Other newspapers also condemned this act of oppressing the right of freedom of expressions.
It is pertinent to mention here that India has illegally occupied the Jammu & Kashmir since 1948.
