Islamabad (September 18, 2017): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Monday submitted details of party accounts to Election Commission of Pakistan in foreign funding case.
A five-member bench of ECP headed by Chief Election Commissioner Justice (Retd) Sardar Raza Khan heard foreign funding case against PTI.

PTI’s counsel Saqlain Haider submitted details of party funds and accounts of 2010 to 2017.
Petitioner Akbar S Baber’s counsel said that Supreme Court had made public the details of party funds. Upon this, PTI counsel Faisal Chaudhry said that Islamabad High Court had directed not to give details of party’s accounts details to anyone.
Following the submission, Haider asked the ECP to give a receipt to the party as confirmation of submission of documents. This angered Chief Election Commissioner flatly refused to provide a receipt, saying that the PTI was bound to submit documents.
Faisal Chaudhry requested the ECP to keep the documents to itself and not share it with anyone.
The ECP had given the PTI until September 18 to submit details of its funding, warning the party that it would take as fact the petitions submitted against it in case the PTI fails to submit funding details.
In 2014, Babar filed a petition in the ECP seeking the disqualification of PTI Chairman Imran Khan for allegedly obtaining funding from prohibited sources and discrepancies in the party’s accounts.
