‘Game of Thrones’ Drops New Season 7 trailer

Hollywood (June 23, 2017): After several seasons of teasing viewers, winter has finally come to Westeros. The second “Game of Thrones” Season 7 trailer released on Wednesday opens with Sansa Stark and Jon Snow, portrayed by Sophie Turner and Kit Harington respectively, clad in fur as they man the North.

With dramatic narration by Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen), Sansa Stark, and Jon Snow, the trailer sets the tone for the upcoming season premiering on HBO on July 16.

The action-packed scenes of the trailer feature the scheming Lannister twins Cersei (Lena Headey) and Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) preparing for the upcoming battles.

Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), accompanied by her now full-grown dragons, continues her journey to claim the throne.

Outside the Wall, the White Walkers are inching closer to civilization, with Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) still using his warging abilities.

The first “Game of Thrones” Season 7 trailer was released in May, highlighting the looming war and the characters’ paths crossing.

The hit show, based on the “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels by George R.R. Martin, return almost three months later than its usual April release.

Show production was delayed as the story required snowy settings, which was not possible during the summer in their filming locations.

The penultimate season will consist of only seven episodes, down from the usual 10, but the season finale will be running at about 90 minutes — the longest yet in the series.

Earlier, the show’s creators revealed the eighth and final season will consist of only six episodes, but HBO still had fans excited as it disclosed plans of creating a spin-off show.
