DI Khan (July 22, 2018): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to postpone the forthcoming elections in PK-99 constituency after the assassination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) candidate Ikramullah Khan Gandapur today.
Ikramullah Gandapur, who was the PTI’s candidate from PK-99, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital after being injured in a blast near his vehicle in Tehsil Kalachi on Sunday.

Ikramullah was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital, DI Khan for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries. The earlier blast claimed lives of Ikramullah Khan’s driver, while five others sustained injuries.

The former agriculture minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was contesting the July 25 polls from PK-99, Kalachi.
Ikramullah’s brother, Israrullah Gandapur, was killed in a suicide bombing in 2013 in Kalachi.
Attacks Over Ikram Gandapur, Akram Durrani Condemned
Earlier today, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Imran Khan has strongly condemned attack over party candidate, Ikramul Khan Gandapur.
In a tweet message, PTI Chairman Strongly condemned the attack and termed it as a cowardly act, Khan also prayed for the early recovery of the injured in the attack.

On the other hand, Chairman PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairman of the PPP also strongly condemned the attacks over MMA’s Akram Durrani and PTI’s Ikramul Gandapur.

Both demanded of the caretaker government to provide security to the candidates, who are contesting elections and immediate arrest of the attackers.
