Govt and Opposition Talks Could Not Decide About Azadi March

ISLAMABAD: The government negotiating committee and the opposition’s rehbar committee could not decide anything in the held talks on the Azadi March.

The talks could not decide where the Azadi march will converge in the capital while the talks were held at the residence of Akram Khan Durrani, convenor of the opposition-led rehbar committee where they discussed the opposition parties sit-in and the Azadi march.

The negotiations were held in the two rounds while in first the opposition presented four-point agenda while after conclusion of first-round the government’s committee contacted to Prime Minister Imran to inform him suggestion surfaced after first round and the opposition’s demands

At the end of second round a joint press conference were held while Akram Durrani said that despite having two round of talks we could not reach on any conclusion while the talks will continue but no time frame has been set for it.

Defence Minister and Chief of the government negotiating committee said that they consulted over the suggestions presented by the rehabr committee but no decision was taken adding that the talks will continue.

Sources said that the government negotiating team refused to allow the opposition to hold rally on three places suggested by the rehabar committee and instead insisted it to hold the rally on the parade ground.
