Govt Borrowed More Than 6B Dollars Loan In First Half of Fiscal Year

Islamabad: Economic Affairs Division (EAD) of finance ministry on Monday informed that the incumbent government has taken 6.301 billion dollars foreign loans in the first half of the current fiscal year.

The EAD in its communiqué said that the government had taken a sum of 42.26 million dollar loan in December last year.

The government received 15.99 million grants from July to December while it took 803.56 million dollar loan from China.

According to EAD, the government borrowed 303.90 million dollars from Asian Development Bank (ADB) while Islamic Development Bank lends it 207. 24 million dollars.

The communiqué added that the government also borrowed a sum of 409. 64 million dollars from commercial banks.
