ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the government is taking measures to protect the most vulnerable segments of the society.
He said that the government has enhanced annual allocation for BISP has been enhanced by the present government from 40 billion rupees to 115 billion rupees.
The Finance Minister said Prime Minister has approved increase in the annual stipend to Benazir Income Support Programme beneficiaries from 18,800 rupees to 19,338 rupees per annum.
He said the increase is in accordance with that of Consumer Price Index during the last year. The decision will contribute to mitigating the effect of inflation on the BISP beneficiaries.
