Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday disposed of a petition against privatization of the Rosevelt hotel owned by PIA after assurance given to the court by the federal government.
Justice Amir Farooq of IHC heard the petition against the alleged privatization of the Rosevelt hotel in New York.
During the course of the hearing, petitioner through his counsel viewed that Special Assistant of Prime Minister for overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari wanted to buy the hotel through his frontman adding that he is a person having dual nationality and non-elected.
On which, Deputy Attorney General Raja Khalid Mahmood said that the hotel has been in loss for two years and it has been given to a US company under the joint-venture and denied privatization of the hotel.
The deputy attorney general ensured the court that merit will be considered under the joint-venture and no interest of any people or company to be considered.
Just Amir Farooq, at the occasion, said that did talent and chartered accountants end in Pakistan as foreigners are honoured and the foreign employees leave the organization after incurring a loss of millions adding that it is not a matter of a person but issue of a national asset.
The Judge also questioned is the national carrier lack experienced person who could turn the organization into a profitable entity.
After the arguments, the court disposed of the petition after assurance given by the deputy attorney general.
