Govt Failed In Achieving Tax Target Due To Decrease in Imports: Hammad

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Revenue Hammad Azhar has said that the government failed in achieving tax target due to decrease in imports, while the number of tax filer saw increase of 0.8 million people.

He was addressing on the floor of Senate, which met under its chairman Sadiq Sanjrani.

In his policy statement Hammad Azhar said the target for the FBR was fixed 5,250 billion rupees, the government managed to achieve its target about 95 percent, he added.

Meanwhile, the first resolution recommends that biographies of all the Martyrs who have been awarded Nishan-e-Haider so far may be included in the curriculum of all the educational institutions in the country.”

The second resolution urged the Federal Government to take necessary measures to make all public buildings, hospitals, recreational and educational facilities accessible for persons with disabilities.

The third resolution recommends that the Government should take immediate steps for the construction of an Interchange at village Bhong, Tehsil Sadiqabad, District Rahim Yar Khan at the Multan-Sukkur Motorway.

The fourth resolution urged the Muslims to stay calm and refuse to be intimidated by the hate-mongering Islamophobes, and spread Islam’s message of peace, tolerance and universal brotherhood.
