Govt Focusing on Uplift of South Punjab: PM

Islamabad (August 18, 2017): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Friday said that the government was focusing on development of South Punjab.

A was talking to members of National Assembly from DG Khan who called on him here.  During the meeting, the MNAs discussed different development schemes and projects of their respective areas with the Prime Minister.

The prime minister urged parliamentarians to work earnestly towards addressing the issues of common man.

The MNAs, who called on prime minster include Shezra Mansab Ali Khan, Mian Tariq Mehmood, Sardar Muhammad Shafqat Hayat Khan and Mohammad Raza Hayat Harraj.

Earlier, chairing a meeting on the affairs of Pakistan Railways in Islamabad the Prime Minister stressed the need to chalk out a comprehensive plan to further improve the service delivery of the railways.

He said that the development of railways will contribute towards socio-economic development.

The prime minster directed for speedy implementation of the projects to improve infrastructure and services of Railways.

The railways minister briefed the prime minister on various initiatives taken during last four years which had resulted in significant improvement and performance of the organization.

The prime minister was also briefed on the up-gradation of ML-1 from Karachi to Peshawar to be executed under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Abbasi appreciated overall improvement in terms of services as well as revenue generation.
