ISLAMABAD: The government has issued a notification regarding the establishment of CPEC authority to speed up work on all the projects related to the CPEC authority.
The government has brought the ordinance due to a vital visit of the premier to China while President Arif Alvi endorsed the ordinance due to National Assembly and Senate sessions break after which the ordinance has been imposed.
According to the ordinance, Prime Minister Imran Khan will be chairman of the authority for the period of four years while it will be applicable to the whole of Pakistan and the authority will be based on 10 members.
A 20-grade officer will be the chief executive of the authority while the PM Imran Khan will appoint the executive directors and members of the authority.
All the decisions regarding the CPEC will be taken after approval of the majority of the members of the authority.
