Govt Granted Time to Submit Reply in Shehbaz’s Plea

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday has granted government time to submit a reply in the petition filed by the opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif to strike off his name from Exit Control List (ECL).  

The Lahore High Court divisional bench comprised of justice Malik Ahmed and justice Mirza Waqas heard the case on Shehbaz Sharif plea for the removal of his name from ECL.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has submitted a reply in this connection.

The defendant counsel told the court that Lahore High Court has accepted bail of his client for lack of evidence, however on the request of NAB interior ministry has placed his name on ECL.

“Shehbaz Sharif wanted to go abroad to inquire health after his grand-daughter and some other personal work,” he told the court adding that no single evidence available against him and his name illegally put on ECL.

He named the federal government, NAB, FIA and others as respondents in the case.

Court summoning the reply from the federal government and interior ministry adjourned the case till March 19.
