ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Asad Umar on Tuesday said that the government was mulling to bring Tax Amnesty Scheme on demand of the business community.
Talking to media in Islamabad, Asad Umar announced to launch Amnesty Scheme before the upcoming budget.
The Finance Minister said Tax Amnesty Scheme is being introduced to encourage the people to declare their assets in the country and abroad.
He also supported the proposals of reducing withholding taxes and reforms in capital gain tax.
Commenting over the recent Jahangir Tareen, Qureshi Faceoff, Asad Umar said Jahangir Tareen attended the federal cabinet meeting with the permission of the Prime minister Imran Khan.
When asked about the recent hike in fuel prices, the finance minister said that it is OGRA who recommends to increase or decrease petrol prices.
“Finance minsitry has no role for the hike in fuel prices.”
