LAHORE: The opposition and treasury benches in Punjab Assembly on Wednesday confronted each other over the treatment of Nawaz Sharif followed by rumpus and sloganeering.
When Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz members raised former premier Nawaz Sharif illness issue, treasury benches confronted with the opposition while the PML-N members protested by standing on their seats.
Former speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal and Khawaja Imran Nazeer said that reasonable treatment is not being provided to ailing Nawaz Sharif.
The treasury benches resorted to sloganeering against Nawaz Sharif in reply of the PML-N members sloganeering against the government.
Provincial minister for law Raja Basharat said that the Punjab government agreed to provide treatment to Nawaz Sharif in any hospital of the province and any Doctor of his choice but he (Nawaz) wanted treatment and decisions of his choice.
Mian Aslam said that illness excuse is being made as the corruption of Nawaz Sharif is appearing.
A bill for the establishment of Mir Chaker Khan Rind University of Science and Technology in Dera Ghazi Khan was approved in today’s session in absence of the opposition.
Deputy speaker Sardar Dost Mazari adjourned the session till Thursday morning after completion of agenda.
