ISLAMABAD: The government and the opposition standoff on the names of appointment of two election commission members yet not over and the meeting ended without yielding any result.
The joint parliamentary committee comprises of government and opposition, set up to the appointment of ECP members, the meeting has ended without making an agreement on appointment of two ECP members.
Sherry Rehman said they have set formula but the government did not accept it. She said as per the formula one name should be considered from by government form a province and opposition’s name should be considered from another province, but it could not work.
The committee will be reconstituted if the new names will come from either side.
