ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar says the government is simplifying the tax procedure to facilitate the business community.
Addressing traders’ convention in Islamabad on Thursday, he said tax base will be expanded rather than putting more burden on the existing tax payers.
He said efforts are afoot to remove the concerns of the business community. The Minister said the consultation process continues with traders on the flat tax and simple returns.
Hammad Azhar said a new tenancy law is needed in Islamabad. He said Ministry of Finance has worked on this issue for five years.
He assured the traders that development will take place on draft Tenancy Bill soon. He said the bill will be gotten passed after taking all the legal aspects into account.
