Islamabad: Finance Minister Asad Umar has said that the government was taking significant decisions for economic development and there is no chance that the country may default.
Talking to senior anchorpersons of TV channels in Islamabad on Thursday, he said that increase in the exports and remittances has decreased the trade deficit of the country.
Asad Umar said the government is in touch with the IMF and agreement with it will be signed in case of any attractive program.
He said the government is focusing on alternative means to achieve funds to strengthen the economy.
He continues, “There is no condition on the loan from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, however, Pakistan will only pay interest on it.”
Asad Umar said concrete measures are also being taken to attract foreign investment in the country.
