Green Shirts to Take on South Africa In First ODI Today

PORT ELIZABETH: Pakistan will take on host South Africa in first match at Port Elizabeth today out of five during One Day International (ODI) series.

Big expectations came from returning Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez to counter demoralisation situation after facing whitewash in last Test series.

However, skipper Sarfraz Ahmed asked to play natural game and expressed passion to maintain ‘good start’ against the resurgent South Africans.

On the other hand, South African skipper Faf du Plessis admitted earlier that Green Shirts were more strong than his side, however, he hinted at a healthy competition for places in almost every facet of the side, CricInfo reported.

“We’re a one day side that’s still trying to find that balance in our team,” said du Plessis after South Africa’s training session at St George’s Park.
