Hafeez star in Pakistan triumph against Australia after 11 years

Melbourne: After wait of 11 years, at last, Pakistan fans  hear a good news from Kangaroos soil, when green shirts defeat host Australia in 2nd ODI by 6 wickets and square the five match series by 1-1.

Pakistan started the match with deficit of one match but the bowler done brilliant job and stricted Australia in just 220.

Chasing the modest total of 221 the openers with captain Muhammad Hafeez and Sharjeel laid the solid foundation and they gathered 68 runs .

Muhammad Hafeez played captain innings and along with Baber Azam set the track for the first victory. Hafeez made 72 runs and  Baber Azam 34, added precious runs, After dismissal of both Shoaib malik with Umar Akmal set the victory with 6 wickets in hand.

Earlier, Australia has given visitor Pakistan 221-run target to win the second ODI of the five-match series which Australia leads by one-nil.

Australia was all out for 220 runs with eight balls still remaining.

Australia lost opener Warner at 31, Usman Khawaja at 40 runs and Marsh at 41 runs. They added 16, 17, and zero runs respectively.

Head was next to go at 86 runs, Maxwell at 128, Smith at 193, seventh wicket Wade at 199 runs,Starc at 207, Cummins at 212, and last wicket Faulkner at 220 runs.

Smith was the top Australian scorer with 60 runs followed by 35 and 29 runs added by Wade and Head.

Muhammad Amir removed three Australian batsmen while Junaid Khan and Imad Wasim took two wickets each while Hassan Ali, and Shoaib Malik removed one Australian wicket each.
