ISLAMABAD: Former Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) chief, Lieutenant General (retd) Hameed Gul died of brain hemorrhage on August 15 (Saturday) in Murree at the age of 89 years, he had been complaining of headache for few days.
According to the doctor of Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Panhal Somro confimed his death, while saying that he was dead of brain hemorrhage, he was brought to the hospital at 9;15 at night.
Whereas, the doctor told that doctors tried to save his life but he could not be survive, due to his low blood pressure, he could not be sent to Islamabad. However, his funeral prayer would be announced when Hameed Gul’s sons, Abdullah Gul and Umar Gul would return from abroad.
Meanwhile, Hameed Gul’s wife was facing cancer, due to which she was living in Murree.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed grief over his death, where they asked his forgiveness and patience to the relatives.
Including opposition leader, Khursheed Shah, chairman of Threeke-Insaaf, Imran Khan, chief of Jamat-i-Islami (JI), chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Pakistan Awami Tehreek(PAT), Tahir-ul Qadri and other political and religious personalities expressed their sorrow on the death of Hameed Gul.
