Entertainment Desk (November 2, 2018): King of Bollywood “Shah Rukh Khan” turns 53 today.It’s no surprise that superstar Shah Rukh Khan rules Bollywood like the true King of Romance that he is. But things were not always easy for him.
From a small-town lad who landed in Mumbai with starry dreams in his eyes to become the ‘Baadshah’ of Bollywood, his journey is nothing less than inspiring. The actor made his film debut in 1992 with Deewana after making several appearances on television. While he is now known for his blockbusters such as Kal Ho Naa Ho, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai amongst many others, Shah Rukh has also starred in many films that didn’t fare so well at the box office.He was a mischievous kid, the actor was nicknamed ‘Mail gadda’ in school. Speaking about it in one of his interviews, he said, “I was nicknamed Mail gadda, because I used to run very fast, like an express train. Also because my hair used to stand out in front.”
“King Khan” has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a significant following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In terms of audience size and income, he has been described as one of the most successful film stars in the world.According to a report, Khan’s brand value stands at $131 million. As per estimates, the actor charges Rs 3 to 3.5 crore a day for an endorsement. There were reports that the actor charged Rs 20 crore for endorsing Pan Vilas pan masala.
