Pakistan heroic wicket keeper cum batsman, Sarfraz Ahmed, expressed felicitation over performance resulted victorious for the national team against South Africa. He refuted rumours about harsh arguments with head coach Waqar Younis. Sarfraz said that he could not even think about misbehaviour with any senior.
Sarfraz Ahmed while being interviewed admitted that he was under pressure before the match. He said that the skipper Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis encouraged him alot and advised to play his natural game.
He claimed to find out technique to face South African pacer Dale Steyn by stroking out of the crease which always created difficulties for the bowler to maintain his line and length. He expressed sorrow over his run out as he was not expecting that David Miller was running so fast to the ball.
Sarfraz Ahmed said that he was apprised about his world record for taking six catches behind the wicket in a match and shattering Pakistani wicket keeping record of 5 caught behinds. The cricketer said that he felt happiness to watch Pakistan’s name in the record book. He thought that Hashim Amla’s caught behind was the game changing moment who sent off to the pavillion on ball of Wahab Riaz.
He praised outstanding batting of AB de Villiers and revealed strategy that Green Shirts were started targeting Proteas’ batsmen on opposite end of de Villiers which led pressure on him as well.
