Hasn’t seen such lethargic opposition during 25 years presence in House: Asif

ISLAMABAD: Flared up by Shireen Mazari’s attempt to speak during National Assembly session the remarks uttered by Minister Water and Power Khawaja Asif against her got expunged by Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq.

Khawaja Asif asked the Speaker to get Shireen Mazari silent on which the PTI legislators stood up and raised and chanted ‘no, no’ slogans.

Criticizing PTI legislators Khawaja Asif said that he has been in the House for 25 years but he has never seen such a lethargic opposition. He refused to offer any apology over his remarks and said that if women parliamentarians display such attitude they would be paid back in the same coin.

Talking on the occasion Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that this was not the first time Khawaja Asif used such language. Later the Speaker expunged Khawaja Asif’s controversial remarks about Shireen Mazari.
